After 30 something (who's counting?) hours of travel we have only made it as far as Atlanta Hilton Garden Inn. We survived Guangzhou to Hong Kong and then Hong Kong to Newark by the skin of our teeth as we only had 20 minutes to make the connection. In Newark we were greeted with awful surly people and unmarked lines of unhappy travelers and a mess caused by some weather or something. Anyway, at 11 p.m. we gave up, flew to Atlanta and are here till in the a.m. when we finally fly to Jax. Good grief. I won't say anything bad about COntinental until we get our luggage back. Oh, did I forget to mention that our luggage wasn't in Newark when we got there?
BUT we had an amazing journey before all that. Just a pic or two for now. Yue yue is talking herself to sleep right now and I'm dozing off. Pictures include a shot of one of our wonderful guides, Juntao, Yue yue and big bro in a bamboo thicket complete with chinese graffiti (look closely at the lettering) with the local paper -- as they run pics of residents posing with the mullet wrapper, and the famous red couch photo of the babies at the White Swan in Guangzhou.
