Gorgeous Fall Weather Day

Isaac says that you can't use the word gorgeous when talking about weather in Florida during the summer and early autumn months, but boy have we gotten lucky this week. And, the light! A photography dream. It also doesn't hurt that Yue Yue is just about as cute as can be.

meeting the cousins

we traveled to NC for the weekend so Yue Yue could meet Evie, Max and riley, her Uncle Kenneth and aunt katy. Great weather for the Apple Festival, too. If you're wondering how many shots it takes to get a good one of five kids, it's close to fifty.

Han Fu has a family!

My friend Pat in Miami is quite oblivious to the parade of tropical storms and hurricanes paving their way toward South Florida right now. She and her husband just met their new son, Max Han Fu in Xi'an, China. They'll be posting pictures soon, but if you'd like to follow their story, click here.

Pat and I met through a writer friend of mine, Stephanie. A while back Steph hooked us up so that we could vent and complain to each other during the long China referral waiting process. For over a year, we chatted via email. Lazily, we left the subject line, "I got your email address from Stephanie." Last May, Pat said, "I was thinking I'd change the subject line, but let's not do a thing until one of us gets a referral. One day, there was a message from Pat: "The Subject Line has Changed." She had information and pictures of little Han Fu waiting in Xi'An.

We hope to meet -- with our new families -- one day in person. For now, we're part of the psychic friends network.

labor day at lake annie

Yue Yue's first trip to North Central Florida and her first dip in the lake. In the first shot, there is what we refer to as her "concerned Xiao Yue look." But I love the second one, where she realizes that this is one giant bath tub, and in the third, she's splashing like crazy.
